With more than 20 years of experience in interior and lighting design, founder Kerry Cochran has a knack for understanding and elevating each client’s vision. We believe the design process should be inspiring, enjoyable, and collaborative. From your first ideas to the final installation, we guide every step with care and attention.
Based in East Sacramento and deeply connected to Northern California’s design and building community, we collaborate with a handpicked network of artisans, architects, builders, and trade partners. These long-standing relationships ensure that every detail, including finishes, furnishings, and lighting, is thoughtfully crafted and beautifully executed.
Kerry Cochran - Principal Designer
A California native with a lifelong passion for art and architecture, Kerry began her creative journey with aspirations of becoming an architect, though life had other plans. In her 20s, she discovered a deep love for interior and lighting design, and has been immersed in the world of design ever since.
Before founding ID+L Studio (formerly Kerry Ellis Design) in 2016, Kerry spent over a decade at a luxury Northern California design firm, where she specialized in high-end residential, restaurant, and lighting design. Her work is defined by a thoughtful balance of form and function, with an emphasis on detail, atmosphere, and personal connection.
Based in Sacramento, Kerry is also a dedicated traveler who draws inspiration from around the world. She regularly attends leading design and lighting trade shows across Europe and North America, bringing a fresh, global perspective to every project.
Kerry approaches each space with creativity, care, and a deep commitment to helping clients create interiors that feel beautifully personal, highly functional, and effortlessly timeless. We believe a home should reflect who clients are and how they live. Our role is to elevate and execute their vision by bringing experience and a fresh, thoughtful perspective to each project.
